HumanitiesStudents took on the 55-word story challenge, creating their own intriguing stories by only using 55 words (no more - no less). These are short, creative writing pieces that contain all key elements of a narrative: setting, at least one character, conflict, and resolution (even if this is the feeling of shock or intrigue the reader may be left with). The brevity of the stories challenged students to be highly selective in their word choice and master the art of quick storytelling, realizing that sometimes less is more!

Studio M (Art)In Studio M, students were challenged to select just one image to represent their story. They learned about key basic drawing techniques, contour drawing, and continuous contour drawing. These skills were used to design a stylized illustration used to lure readers to their text. Students also dove into a little carpentry by creating and staining their wood frame to create a display to present their work.
